dometic fridge door fell off hinge!

We have a dometic dm2652 fridge/freezer. A plastic hinge cracked and split apart leaving the entire door hanging off about to fall on my daughters feet. Does anyone know if the entire door must be replaced since it appears the hinge is molded on. I do not see a phone number on their website, only an email contact form. Any help is appreciated.

You might not need a kit. JB weld putty and glue repaired it. Just mash the putty, stick the broken part back on and glue.

Mine broke while traveling. One of us didn't verify the door was latched before we went down a washboard dirt road. the door swung open and with the weight of the goods in the door and the bouncing, one of the hinge holes ripped completely out. On the next stop, the entire contents of the refer were on the floor. I found a used replacement door on Ebay for about 100. I had to swap in my woodgrain panel and was good as new.

I watched Chris and G travels on Youtube..they had the same thing happen..I had never heard of it until then..

glad there is a repair kit for the problem

Watch out ...the amount of items you store in the door..the added weight does not help.

There is a kit, about 60 bucks, you can buy to replace the hinge

I took a "T" shaped Thing I got at the hardware.. Mine was a 3 inch corner brace or some such (It is sold near them but it'a a letter T)

Opened up one of the holes a bit, did a bit of bending, painted it black, works great,, About 3 bucks, 5 with paint.

Send me an email (PM) - I purchased a Dometic door hinge repair kit, but before I got the door fixed, the fridge just quit and I installed a new Westinghouse Fridge / Freezer. I got the kit from All Seasons RV Parts.

Our Dometic lasted many years, but it is now gone. So if you want the Dometic door hinge repair kit and instructions, it's yours.
