Firman Generators

Does anyone have any experience with Firman Generators? I am specifically looking to buy one of these. I plan on using it to supply power to my 50-Amp TT until I can get the electric power run to the property that I own. Then I will use it as backup power for the house to be built there as well.

Thanks

I would go for the 8000 watt Champion, same price better quality.

I would put the $1,000 toward getting power installed.
Otherwise I am sure the firman will work fine for you.

Firman is a no name brand. KInd of the cheapest thing you can get your hands on.
Don't expect much. At least step up to the 7500 watt Champion shown on the same page a much better brand. Not quite as lou but still loud.
Hopefully there are no others around you that maybe affected by the racket.

They seem to run everyone else's large RVs.
The one you're looking at is Chinese, so there's that.
It's gonna be LOUD. Irritatingly loud.

The Honda EU7000is would not work as far as having sufficient power for my 50 amp trailer.

And at 4-5X the price . . . . I have found one of these Firman's for less than $750 new - delivered!

The other thing that appealed to us about this is the dual fuel opportunity. Where we are going to be we are going to have a large bulk propane tank eventually.

It won't be used continuously until the power is brought to the property. I wish I were there all the time but if I was then the power would already be installed!

Let's see...loud and not fuel efficient. I would say no experience needed.

It should work fine. It will not be particularly quiet, nor particularly fuel efficient (it looks like they claim 2/3 gallon per hour at half load), and may not last super long under continuous operation.

If it will be some time before you get power installed, I would suggest considering the Honda EU7000 which would be much quieter and hence more pleasant to live with and would use somewhat less fuel...but it does also have a much higher initial cost. Perhaps you could find one used.

It doesn't say how loud it is so I'm guessing it's really loud.
