Heater core leak

Outside box is leaking A/F. No smell or mist inside when using heater. Should I bypass this core for now? If so, how? I was told not to bypass because the core relieves pressure somehow. I have shut off water faucet heads near the engine. 3126B CAT, Freightliner. Would like to tilt the cap and not remove totally, if the core needs to be replaced and the box too if necessary. About 8 clips hold it together. Anyone done this on a 2000 Winnebago Ultimate Advantage? PICS please

Remove the inlet and outlet hose from the core. Join them with a fitting and two clamps.

Bypass it completely for the summer. Repair it at your leisure.
