I have a 50 amp 5th wheel with a 50 amp hughes auto former unit. The campground weโ€™re going to be staying at only has 30 amp service. If I use a 50-30 amp adapter on the Hughes will it work ok ? Thanks in advance.

If the voltage drops to 100 you are in another park that doesnโ€™t provide safe electricity. Donโ€™t advertise your autoformer IMO. Park probably has rules against them.

Yes it will work just Fine.. I did that many times no problems

Well one possile issue.. due to the nature of electricity you use Volt-Amps. so if your rig needs say 3500 volt amps and the voltage is 120 volts. NO problem (30 amps at 120 volts is 3600 volt-amps) But if the voltage drops to say 100 volts park side. now it needs 35 amps to get that same 3500 volt-amps and click goes the park breaker.

NOTE it's not watts (Watts are generally less than volt-amps) it's volt-amps.

But we normally speak of them the same.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.
