HWH Question

I am new to using HWH levelers and need guidance. I use auto level and everything works fine. Sometimes, my front wheels lift off the ground when RV is level. I want to put my leveling blocks under the wheels but am unsure how to do this.

After I select auto level and wheels come off ground when level, can I then use the manual mode to raise the wheels higher, place the blocks under the wheels and then re select auto level to lower the wheels on the blocks. If this is not the way to get blocks under the wheels, any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

If the front tires come off the ground in Auto level----Raise the front a few inches more. Install the blocks under the tires. Then MANUALLY retract the front jacks until the YELLOW light for the front goes off. You may have to raise the rear a few inches also. Just follow the Yellow level lights. HWH will NOT retract to auto level. You could put the blocks under the tires then do a full retract and then Auto level again. Doug

Our Winnebago manual says front wheels off the ground is OK so for a few days it's good enough for me. For a longer stay in a very unlevel site I drive the wheels up on the blocks and then use the jacks. If the blocks are too high under the tires you may need a block under the jacks.

Don't have auto leveling (joy stick HWH control) but I always use blocks first under wheels if necessary to try and get as close to level as possible then use jack's to finish the job and make it rock solid.

Just manually raise and lower as you need.
Auto level not mandatory

When there is a big slope, we use blocks to begin the leveling process then activate the auto-level on our HWH jacks. We bought hosspads and they work much better than the plastic blocks by themselves. Very heavy and solid so they don't get crushed so easy. We put the hosspads under the jacks, not under the wheels. I've seen many rvs with the wheels off the ground, so I assume it is safe. (We're kinda new to this too as we have only had our new RV with HWH jacks for less than a year.)

I would pull on to the blocks first, then level. I'm not 100% certain of the HWH leveling algorithm, but I suspect manually raising, then doing auto level would simply raise the rear to match- I don't think it is programmed to lower on auto, just raise.
You could raise, then fully retract and auto level if needed.
