I've Been A Gambler...with surplus parts...

Here we have unmarked premium manual reset circuit breakers, note the part about being unmarked. Not true. The vendor either forget to mark them or purposefully omitted their amperage. It's FIFTY AMPS

I've kept an eye on BLOWN breakers especially on motorhomes, and too many of them are MATTEL grade toy 50-amp breakers.

This is a WATERPROOF meaning the insides do not turn to rust, breaker that wil improve reliability 1000%, it's price is little more than what a MATTEL breaker costs at a auto parts store. I've used this brand and it is comparable to a Littlefuse or Bussman.

Yep ... that kindof describes approximately what I saw when years ago I did some volunteer work in Mexico wiring new homes that we built and gave to poor families down there.

I hope no one was electrocuted during one of their rare rain storms.

So what is the amp rating of a penny?? :h ๐Ÿ™‚ :S

Not sure if that was "tongue in cheek" or not but a lot more than the fuse it replaced. That was the problem. People would use a penny in an emergency then forget to replace it with the correct fuse eventually resulting in a fire in many cases. Breakers are much safer and you can just reset them most of the time instead of replacing them.

Let's extrapolate the argument...

Why don't houses have a long row of green screw in fuses?

I definitely remember a time when we did!! It was rather inconvenient having to find a fuse to replace a blown one, though I remember some who always kept a few pennies around for that purpose! Definitely not as safe as breakers. :B

I traced down the part number it's a fifty

So, once you get it, it's marked? Or are you assuming it's 50 amp? I would certainly gamble on getting a mystery breaker if it was marked. I wouldn't gamble cable protection on a hunch, though.

Soooo .... what's the matter with this K.I.S.S. 50 amp one -> just replace a melted link with spares you carry along and the whole thing is just a simple piece-of-metal-mounted-between-lugs that can be used submerged under water and still won't "short" with only 12 volts potential involved: https://www.amazon.com/Baomain-ANL-50A-Electrical-Protection-holder/dp/B01MZ68KY9?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_7

P.S. My uncle used to carry a car battery in his small boat and dangle a naked car sealed beam headlight (remember them?) over the side taped to a broom handle. The power for the light came from the battery using naked jumper cables hanging in the water clipped to the sealed beam bulb's terminals. This made for great underwater visibility when fresh water spear fishing at night.

Simple 12 volt current path metal connectors and wiring don't care one way or the other about being submerged in (fresh) water. You can't get more rainwater waterproof than this.

Or a person COULD use an alternative like this thirteen dollar piece of krap found on AMAZON.

Copy of the Cooper Bussman design.

I bought the official marine rated blue sea version, 30a.

They're definitely not water proof. One used for my electric tongue jack lasted four years before it turned to mush. I'll give it credit, it did withstand a lot of abuse, installed on the trailer tongue near the jack.
