Okay just to update......the problem ended up being in the clear filter located at the pump intake. It was picking up junk when turned on allowing only a little bit of water for a bit. thanks alot for every'ones input and helpful suggestions. HAPPY NEW YEAR

It might be a vacuum leak on the intake side of the pump or lift tube. The pump could be sucking air. Good luck.

Either the pump is tired or there is a restriction in the inlet to the pump.

Your 2007 pump is tired.......diaphragms are probably stiff
You can rebuild or replace.
But pump needs work
I think you're right

Have you got outside and looked for leaking water?

Did you replace the hot-water heater plug?

Water leaking out the hot-water pressure vent? Cycle it a time or two.

Check under sinks in cabinets for leaks. Connections should be tightened every so often. Check the inline strainer connected to the pump. Check and clean faucet screens.
. It seems to me that if there was a leak that the pump would never shut off but it does.

Are you hooked up to electricity, or just battery? Mine will not pump well if the batteries are low.

Winterizing valves are in the right direction. Fittings are all tight. The pump does pressurize and stop eventuallyand water will come out for short timebut then the water pressure stops and the pump fires up again until pressure is returned.

I had that issue one time after TH sat up for a couple of months. It was something, maybe algae or dirt blocking the outlet of the water tank. I was able to remove the hose going from the tank to the pump and blow back into the tank and cleared the line. it may be a partial block since you do build up pressure eventually, but when you open a faucet and the pump starts pumping there is not enough water to supply the amount the pump is pumping.

That would explain why you have good pressure for a short time after the pump finally stops.
