This is our first trip out since winterizing and we have no water going into the toilet. We have water at all of our sinks and shower but nothing going into the toilet. This is a fairly new toilet. What could it be?

We have fixed the problem. Thank you for all your help. It was indeed a clogged valve. We ordered a new one before I saw the post about cleaning the screen on the water valve. It turned out to be a good thing because the old one broke when we tried to get it out. I didn't know all that white stuff in there was minerals from hard water. Lesson learned. Thanks everyone we couldn't have done it without your help

Least now you are not having to do the 'bucket brigade'

Thanks for the update!!
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Thanks for all the help. We will try the screen first. We have a valve coming tomorrow if that doesn't fix it. Will let you know

If it was grinding and now it's quiet, I imagine whatever was doing the grinding (and actuating the valve open) broke. Now you got nothing actuating the valve. I'm leaning towards investigating the pedal and how it attaches.

Your toilet has a snap in water valve assembly....WITH a screen at inlet.

Screen is probably plugged up

Turn off water supply....lay towel down under water line connection and loosen/remove supply line.

Water valve assembly snaps in/out.remove and clean screen.

The mounting bolts may have come loose and disengaged the pedal from the valve.

Loosen the water line to the toilet. IF water squirts out, you have water to the toilet. Odds are, there is a mineral buildup blocking the water thru the Toilet water valve. Doug

If you post the mfg/model of your toilet I am sure someone here has experienced the same problem. In my ancient Thetford toilet there was plastic valve that was controlled by the foot petal - easy to replace - not sure whether it applies to your toilet. Also - consider checking mfg website or giving them a call - if yours broke you can bet there are plenty of others that have the same problem.

No, our old one would lift to fill but this new one you push the pedal halfway down to fill. It always made a grinding sound like it was slipping. now it's real quiet LOL and no water. It's a couple of years old and has been working fine until today.

Did you lift to fill? There is a valve that you have to actuate in order to let the water into the toilet bowl.

Other than that, there is no logical reason why water would not be there if it is hot and cold at faucets.

Fairly new toilet.. hooked up properly?
