Proflex caulk and fender skirts

There is a caulking seam along the top of our fender skirts which has pretty much failed for the full length on each side. Due to flexing while in transit I guess.

Question is, I assume fender skirts are typically HDPE plastic? Almost nothing will stick to HDPE so would it be a waste of time re-caulking it? I see that some TTs don't use caulking at this seam but I *think* it's needed on ours, at least for part of it where it transitions from the fiberglass sidewall to aluminum J-wrap. Maybe it's not needed though?

I doubt the skirts are HDPE. HDPE is difficult to mold and color. Try using Geocel 2300 series sealants. The bond strength is really good and is listed for vinyl.

Proflex RV and the Geocel 2300 are the same product.

I did a bit of caulking where it opened up, but I reduced the shaking by installing homemade snubbers.
