Refridgerator is acting bizarre

We're having an issue with our Dometic fridge and I'm at a loss on what to do. Hoping someone on here has experienced this and can help.
Out of the blue the fridge started freezing the food in the fridge not the freezer so we bought a new thermistor. The fridge stopped freezing but the check light came on next morning. Found out the hose in back broke and water went everywhere. We dried it up and put new hose and the check light went off and everything was fine again for the next 24 hours. Next morning, check light is back on. Went outside and there's no water. wiggled some parts around and now the check light is back off. Does anyone know what is happening? ๐Ÿ˜ž
Thanks in advance!

The fridge light has been only coming on at night and in the morning we could get it back on but today it's not coming back on. Everything is defrosting

is there a way to test the circuit board?

The circuit board is on the opposite side so it didn't get wet

We are outside now using a heat gun on low to dry this out. Maybe it didn't get dry enough the first time. We've had this rig for about 4 years now and I don't think the gas ever worked on the fridge so it's always been on auto. I did notice though that our stuff wasn't warm in the fridge so the check light isn't turning the power off. I just don't understand why all of the sudden it's doing it. All we did was replace the thermistor. We can't try putting the old one back in because my son had to cut the wire to get it out.

REMOVE the circuit board so you can DRY the backside ...where the circuits/soldering is done
Is it time for your medication or mine?

'Check Light' only has to do with Propane operation
Means flame failed to light off and Prove it lit

If you are in AUTO Mode....
AC Power is priority
BUT on LOSS of AC Power fridge will swap to GAS
If Gas fails...Check Light

IF in AUTO and you are SURE there have NOT been any Power Outages then Circuit Board is funky due to getting wet
IF you have propane valved in and flame is lighting then issue is with the Flame Proving signal which could be bad Spark Electrode wiring/connection OR circuit board is funky from being wet

You can completely remove circuit board *label/disconnect all wires/leads (AC/DC/Element Leads etc)
Then dry both sides using hair dryer

When the light comes on, does it shut down totally?

Sounds like you are plugged into shore power too.

When I got my new TT with that fridge in it, it would run fine while plugged in on either gas or 120v. But, once it reached temp and wanted to 'cycle', it would trigger the light and shut down.

Running on 12v only (battery) and on gas, it would cycle just fine.

This was a brand new TT and under warranty, but it would have taken some 2 plus weeks and taking the rig back to them, picking it back up and I had a trip planned the next week.

I just ordered a new board off of Google of all places for $100.. It came within 2 days and an hour to replace and it's all fixed and running just fine over a year later..

I get the whole "warranty" thing... Sure, they should have paid for it, but 2 weeks, towing it back and forth, for a lousy $100 and an hours of my time... No brainer for me..

I also had an 'warranty' issue on my old 2003 Prowler back when it was brand new.. I took it in for a simple plumbing issue with the shower.. They fixed it after a week... The next trip out, it failed again.. I ended up fixing it while in camp from a local hardware store and it remained fixed for the rest of my time with it which was in 2019 when I traded it for the new Rockwood.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, you can only do what you can do, so I get that.. You can only do what you can do.

Good luck! Mitch

Do you have the thermistor you replaced? Try putting it back and see if the problem persists.

My check light only comes on during propane operation.

Are you boondocking? What is the battery voltage?

Are you running it on gas and the heater at night?

Thank you for such a quick response! The model # is RM2652. Thankfully the board didn't get wet. We've tightened everything and it's working now but the check light will most likely come back on again. Seems to turn on during the night

Wiggling parts around and having it resume operation is usually an indication of a loose connection.

Try shutting all power off to the fridge and removing every wire, contact etc you can see, one at a time, and check them for corrosion, loose fit etc. If loose, squeeze the connector carefully a bit to ensure a snug fit. Scrape any tabs where connectors go with a small screwdriver or blade of a utility knife.

What is the model number of the fridge?
