Samsung Residential Fridge Ice Maker Doesn’t Work?

I have a brand new 2018 3721RL Montana with a residential fridge. The icemaker isn’t working. The fridge is in a kitchen slide. Here is what I have done so far per manual instructions:

Pressed Reset Button on IceMaker and I do hear the motor start.

Tried water valve under sink that controls water flow in both positions in case it was installed backwards.

I am suspecting it isn’t getting water through the line to the ice maker? I have zero skills in technical hands-on appliance/plumbing ... Thoughts and step by step instructions would be appreciated!

5 days should be long enough

Maybe he just waited the 24 hours sometimes necessary for the ice maker to kick in!

Well, I guess the OP got things sorted out, not that we will ever know

It takes a long time for it to start making ice, like hours...Once it starts it makes ice pretty quick. Just make sure it's getting water and wait for it.

You can pour 4 oz (I think) of water into the ice bin to see if the rest of the ice maker is working. If so, you know you just have a water feed problem.

Some do have ice maker problems. However, I found a second water valve behind the drawers to the left of the stove. I didn't check your floorplan so don't know what you've got.

our itssca suncruiser's resi frdge also has a second water valve located in the exterior access panel. that's why i asked if your resi fridge has chilled, filtered water. if that's working AND the bail switch on the ice maker is down then the ice maker itself is likely the problem. othwerwise check the bail switch and your owner's manual for an additional valve.

are you getting filtered water in the fridge? also be sure the ice maker's wire bail is in the down position.

Looking at the control panel, you want to make sure the ice bucket icon is not lit. Push the correct button to extinguish the ice bucket.

It works backwards to what you think is correct

After you pressed the reset button did you wait the prescribed 24 hoirs to check for ice? Mine at home quit last year. I took it out (less than a minute) shook all the ice out of it, reinstalled it, pressed the reset and waited. 24 hours later we had ice. Not a big deal. And you absolutely should check to verify water first.

Sorry to tell you this ,but do a internet search . There is a major malfunction with Samsung ice makers. Ours stopped just after just one year. It’s all Samsung factory parts and with known issues ,it is likely to break again. I was so pissed off I just got ice trays and vowed never to buy anything with the Samsung name plate on it again. Many others feel the same way. I believe it has to do with plastic gears jumping off each other.
Yours may be another issue but ,I do suggest a search for known issues.

Could be that.

But a residential fridge is designed to sit still in one place, not be shaken as it moves around in an RV.

Look for loose connections.
