Travel trailer slide motor wiring question

Hello all

2004 Cardinal (Forest River) travel trailer with 1 slide out.

When connected to shore power (120V AC), does the slide room motor circuit run through the 12V house battery? Does the 12V house battery need to be installed to operate the slide? Does the battery disconnect inside the trailer disconnect the 12V power from the slide motor, or is the slide motor connected to power 100% of the time?

The slide is very slow to operate when connected to shore power, and I was told a new battery will solve this. Didn't make sense to me. Does anyone have a link to a wiring diagram that covers this?

Thanks.

It runs slow because your 12v converter is supplying all the power. It the battery was present, there'd be more amps available and more power from the slide motor. What you're experiencing is normal. The battery isn't required but it's helpful.

Yes, it is a 12VDC motor. It does need a fully charged battery to work.
