Using US #2200XC 6-volt Batteries

Local battery dealer sells T-105's for $120 with core plus tax.

He advises that US brand 2200 XC batteries are just as good as T-105's but are only $99 apiece.

I'll be needing to replace my two 2003 vintage T-105's soon, anyone have experience with the US batteries?

So you had to replace your 2003 batteries only because you let them freeze???? And you would even consider a change to save $20 bucks????? :h

I have interstate U22000s 8 years old and just starting to show signs of age. YES I have abused them.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.
2005 Damon Intruder 377 Alas declared a total loss
after a semi "nicked" it. Still have the radios
Kenwood TS-2000, ICOM ID-5100, ID-51A+2, ID-880 REF030C most times

I do nothing but dry camp, I ran the 2200s for 9 yrs when I traded RVs. They were still going strong. I don't buy overpriced batteries.

Just a note, those batts spent 100% of their time (minus camping days) on a PD9155 w/ wizard.

So what ever happened after that time a while back that you posted how you recovered your old 2200s to 1.275? I thought that meant all was well.

How often do you dry camp and need to use batteries?
When you dry camp how many days to you camp?

I've used trojans and the last a decade or more under very heavy camping use. 60+ dry camping days/year.

If you dry camp lots, and want years of life then trojan may end up having a lower life cycle cost.

If you only go out a few weeks/year and mostly with hookups, then the US Battery/Sams club/costco GC may end up having a lower life cycle cost.

No doubt the Trojan is a highly regarded product, but I must say I've had great long-term performance with Interstate U2200's, merely a rebadged U.S. Battery 2200. In my view $99 is a good price. Visit the U.S. Battery website for data. JMHO.

I replaced my T105's (from fall 2002) with another pair of T105s this last December. I do not believe in changing horses when I have a winner.

Don't forget the salesman's mouth was moving. His motive is better profit for him on the other batteries.

I've got four of them, very happy with them. They worked extremely well for two years, then I left a trickle load on them in the winter by accident and they froze solid. Three came back to life and I'm still using them, along with one replacement. I think they are a good battery.
