My early spring project is to replace the vinyl insert trim, on the outside screw channels. Most of whats on has shrunk thus needs replaced. My question is whats the correct way to install so the shrinking does not happen again

This is what I have done on past units, and no further shrinking problems.

I think the manufacturers purposely stretch the trim, to save on cost. If stretched, even with screws in the ends, failure is only a matter of time.

Think about getting the trim in black, never have to worry about it picking up mildew or getting dirty and looks sharp too.

Although I've never seen a post in any of the RV forums, I'm guessing you could use some sort of vinyl treatment product (Armorall ?) on the insert trim every 6 months or so to help prevent shrinkage.

Its gonna shrink over time. Most have a screw on each end of vinyl run to prevent said shrink.
