Run a coax directly from the dish to the DTV satellite in, using a window is fine. Get that working which will likely require setting the correct settings in the receiver and TV.

Then try any existing coax. Note: OTA and cable coax likely have filters, splitters etc that will not work with the dish to receiver coax.

Wingard? You mean Winegard..right?

I too am having trouble understanding your question(s). First question: "Is the cable off the roof dish"....:h Second question: "is this the the Antenna line in or cable line in to your Direct Box".

What is "this"? :?

How about a picture or two? Maybe that would help us in knowing more what you are referring to.

No disrespect intended, just trying to undersand your problem better.

Neither. It's the satellite in.

I'm not familiar with the specific dish you are using but with home satellite equipment the line in from the actual dish should go to the Cable input on your receiver, the antenna input would be a rooftop antenna to receive local channels if your Dish subscription did not offer the locals.

Dont understand your question. But if your asking if the coax from the dish to behind the TV is suppose to connect to the receiver, then the answer is yes.
