What did you do to your truck today?

I love cruising through the "what did you do to your camper today" thread, I figured I'd add a "what did you do to your truck today".

I'm sure that many of you are like me....and your truck that you use to haul your camper gets a lot of special attention to make sure it's in tip-top shape for your adventures.

I'll start out.....

Today I mounted 2 PIAA 520 Fog lights and 2 PIAA Driving lights to my winch bumper, and aimed them.

This evening, I received a box containing torklift stableload bumpstops. Those will have to wait for another day....we've got a blizzard going on here.

Pulled my rear axle to fix a hub seal. Now I can't find a local source for the spindle nut wrench/socket! Aargh!

Put new shoes on it.

This makes its 4th set of tires. LOL

It came with a brand new set of Hancooks, nearly bald in 30,000 miles and junk in the snow.

2nd set were BFG Rugged Trail, 50,000 miles.

3rd set, that were replaced today were Cooper Discover RTX. 30,000 and they would have been good for another 5,000+.

These are Big Foot ATs.

I'm headed to OR next week and then down the coast. Just thought new tires was a good idea.

Android 5.1, x is the brand seller x lists, though nothing on the radio or manual states.
Many sellers of same basic design-generic Chinese unit. It was the least expensive I could find but this had more memory than most (in this range). And it had knobs:)
Not really knowing if I would use features (or live with a touchscreen) I couldn't see spending any more. It works, not to say recommend, I don't... stock radio is packaged for back up.

I remembered that sometimes you have to lock your hubs. Based on research, it seems the actuator is probably out. Yep, you guessed it. I found out because I needed 4 wheel drive. It took a few times to get up my driveway in Montana with the DRW with really aggressive tires. Thinking about it. I thought the 4x4 couldn't have really been engaged. Driving it around with the 4x4 on. The steering didn't have the telltale feel.

The worse part, I had a Mustang on the trailer, so I had to be very careful. Of course, the next time, it feels funny I will lock the hubs even though it will probably work from now on when I fix it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had a double-DIN Pioneer AVIC D2 in my 2005 Superduty. The GPS antenna was inside centered at the base of the windshield and did well picking satellites even with my Arctic Fox hanging over the front of the Super Cab. Later models had a different dash that had a large opening and actually required a trim kit around the radio to cover up the gaps. What is the make and model of your Android GPS head unit?

Not today-took a break and painted my moms office for her. Truck got a new radio.

Still have some minor items to button up but recently installed a double din Android radio in our 01 F250. Replacing its Cassette/CD, AM/FM. Mostly to gain GPS & mapping, hands free phone and ability to add backup camera to camper. Tethering phone can access internet if no wifi (on a screen I can see), or plug in a DVD & more than I have figured out. Wifi...just amazing- just doesn't seem that long ago installing my first cassette player and I was on top of the world.

Recent newbie as far as the world of 'smart' phones, this unit allows me to take advantage of some of its features in the truck and add some others.

At the same time added a panel mount dual USB port that is plugged into radio. Its where cig lighter was, temporarily relocated the cig lighter till I come up with indash mount, need it for power but yet to come up better mount/location.

Unit came with back up camera...jury's still out on that...

Really nice for seeing hitch- but just backing up not so much.
Has second camera ability-thinking front camera for when scooter and rack mounted might be convenient- maybe later. However adding a camera to the camper will be nice.

To make that allowance I added an SPDT switch between trucks back up light that feeds bumper camera. Switching it feeds power to trucks bumper camera or wireless receiver to receive signal from camper. This on on trucks rear gate pillar.

Not for the faint of heart-import double din is larger than domestic

More than anticipated, some serious trimming required on early 2000 superduty. Factory (or other) radio could be reinstalled.

Still playing with it. Haven't loaded camper yet-anxious to see if the dash GPS antenna will work or if will need to be moved. Read where some have issues, some don't.

Unloaded the camper and put the tailgate and bed cover on. I've got more driving and towing to do and won't need the camper.

Changed the 19.5 front tires to Bridgestones that are a little less aggressive. They are still drive tires.

After a couple years of fretting over just how to haul my Dirt Bike behind my Camper I finally bit the bullet and installed a MAX Hauler on the back of the FORD F350. It works slick. I may yet reduce the Hitch Extension from 36 inch to 24 inch.....Simple task just need to do some measurements to be sure we can access the door when Bike it loaded if I use the 24 inch Extension.
