Did I just see you camping at Brown County State Park in Indiana last weekend? I see you're in Kentucky and I swear I saw the same setup camped near us.
I wish!
However we will be in/around Nashville tomorrow ๐

No problem WMoses. I think GM started offering the 6-sp for 2009 in the half tons and 2007.5 for HD.

Good grocery getter, lousy for towing much more than a family and a tent trailer.

I tow with the 07 Silverado crew with the 5.3L and 3.42 gears (2WD). I think the truck does well pulling our 5000k loaded TT on open, flat road but it doesn't pull well in moderate inclines. I'm going to try dropping it in 3rd the next time we hit the hills and see what she does but I'll also have to keep an eye on the transmission temp when doing so. I'm looking at upgrading to a 3/4 or 1 ton this spring...it seems we pack more and more every trip and I'm sure we are going to exceed payload (if we haven't already).

A 2010 6-spd is not similar to a 2007 4-spd when it comes to towing an RV. But 5k dry should be fine.
