07 Silverado

Anybody towing with a 07 Silverado LT Z71 2wd crew cab 1500 5.3l V8 rear axle ratio 3.42. If so what are you towing and what is the UVW?

Tough motor, and put her in 3rd gear and tow away. Have towed with very high mile 5.3 trucks for while now. High rpms are no harm for that motor, you should have no problems.

Not a 6spd. 4spd for sure. I have a similar truck but with 3.73 and my trailer is 5400lbs unloaded and have no issues. For you I would stay under 5K lbs unloaded weight and you should be good to go.

Mine is an '08 4wd crew w/ 3.73 gears, and I'm pulling a camper that is just under 7k lbs loaded. I pulled a ~5k lb camper w/ a truck like the OP's previously (5.3/3.42), and it handled it fine.

I will try if possible. I had a 96 Ford E 150 van with a 5.8l V-8 that I towed a 07 Pioneer 27FQS weight of trailer 5480lbs dry with no problem. Sold the van to my son so I'm left with the Silverado.

Had an 05 with the same drive train but 4 spd tranny and 4X4 and towed the same TT I do now. It's about 5K ready to go scale weight with a little water. Towed it over the Rockies aeveral times without a problem. You have a 6 speed trans like my 2011 (I think) which is even better for towing. You should be able to tow a light TT in the 20-27 ft range without problems.

OH geeze come on now, what version 1500, 2500 3500 or dually? What motor, 5.3, 6.0 or Duramax?
