I'm thinking about 1800+ lbs of tongue weight. Even with one of them fancy bovine hitches, a trailer that heavy would be pushing the Tundra whichever way it wanted to go. I'd want a 1-ton dually for that weight.

I once saw a Tundra pulling a Gooseneck wedge car carrier with three vehicles on it...I was on the interstate driving. I just kinda shook my head.

Had to have some pumped up airbags on the rear end or something because it wasn't sagging or anything...

The thought was scary about what that axle and frame was going through. Had to be close to 6,000 lbs on the rear axle.

On edit, I see Tundra's and F150's pulling fivers all the time during my commute to the office. (70-80 miles per day)

Not advocating it...just general observations...I have yet to see one wrecked or with wheels fallen off on the side of the road.

Thanks!

My Tundra is rated for towing about 10,000 pounds:

No. It may pull well for a while but at some point he is going to have to come to a fast stop and that won't happen with that truck and TT combination.

you think it doesn't have trailer brakes??:? You have to know that there is not any pickup truck out there that is rated to stop itself, AND a 12000lb trailer.. Trucks, no matter how big, are only rated to stop the GVWR of the truck. Anything over that. The trailer brakes stop.

Even IF that was "true", the tongue weight at 15% would be 1800 lbs most likely EXCEEDING the cargo weight of said tow vehicle..

Should be no problem....as long as it's a Tundra and not the Tacoma.
