We just purchased our 1st camper and wanted to get a little advice from the experienced campers. What are some must have to stock the camper with before our first trip? And some necessities to make the trip more enjoyable for two small kids? Thanks

Depending on ages. When younger my kids loved to play with their toys in the site. We had a box of army men, trucks, super heros, gi joes, what ever they were into at the time on board at all times. Board and card games, Also fished, rode bikes, scooters, hiked, They made pet rocks one year. Just let them enjoy the great outdoors. We also got an ice cream ball and theyd make ice cream by rolling it around. We use glow sticks to light the bathroom at night its just enough to see. :)And get the liquid tank chemicals. Easier to deal with than the chemical baggies that take 10 gallons of water.

A good pair of walking boots/shoes. Most Fed/State campgrounds have trails.
Swimming gear - a lot of Fed/state campgrounds have lakes/rives (at least in the NC, VA, PA, NJ, NY area)
Playing cards/games for the rainy days
A sense of adventure

How old are the kids and are you camping in a place with hiking trails? Even for myself, I have found that a set of the Audubon Guides for minerals/birds/insects/plants can be very interesting to teach kids about their natural surroundings. You might even learn something yourself. Might want to throw in a fishing pole or 3.

Besides the required things like sewer hose fresh water hose, and leveling blocks, blankets, sheets, and cookware. Get stuff for the kids to play, Games, books, tea sets, toy cars, what ever they like to play.

We never do movies, cause we just don't go camping to sit inside, and watch TV. Playing games, and reading with the kids is a GREAT way to make GREAT memories. and to teach them to think for themselves.

Also. Let them use their imagination, and make up their own games.
