2014 f150 6.2L

First timer... Ordered a 2014 f150 6.2L v8 6.5 bed max tow off road crew cab 3.73 gears. Curious if anyone has similar rig and what kinda campers they tow and how it performs. Traded off 2005 fx4 with a 5.4L it pulled our 2001 26' wilderness(8300) qvwr great and I'm sure the new truck will tow it much better but we are thinking about upgrading campers thinking about jayco 29qbs. I don't want to start a lifted truck spin off but.... I am planning on a 4"-6" BDS lift for new truck and 35" tires. I've always had a lifted truck for my tow rig and never had any trouble but this lift will be a little bit bigger than I've had before. So there's the first post what's ya'lls thoughts

As mentioned in a previous thread... just make sure all your weight capacities stay within the range of your truck and trailer and you will be fine.

Larger and heavier tires is a two step kick in performance that greatly affects towing. Keep it stock. And watch the payload on your new truck.

All the trucks I've owned have been lifted, so I will have to disagree with you about it being unstable on the highway maybe if it was getting lifted much higher. As far as warranty it voids the suspension parts such as ball joints and tie rods I did ask. I'm going to drive it for few months maybe a year before make my decision but no more miles that I'm pulling a camper or heavy trailer the risk is worth the reward in my opinion. As much deep snow drifts as I had to drive through last winter is some of my decision. I was pushing snow with the bumper of my old truck 05 fx4 3" lift 35"s more than once when snow plows quite running a stock height truck w/ stock height tires wouldn't madeit.

Of course its your truck, do what you want, But you did ask. The life will also make it unstable on the highway. And I wonder what it will do to your warranty. Check. It may void it.

I won't be towing the camper very far mostly local 30 minutes or so most of the time,once a year at the most I might go 3-4 hours from home with it. I want the ground clearance because I am off road fairly often around home,and we live in the country so winter can and does at least once a year bring deep drifts to our area

You will only hurt the capability of an otherwise nice towing platform.

As it sits. It is rated to tow 11,100lb. You raise it, and get taller tires. It will lose a lot of that towing capacity. Probably about 1000lb worth.

The 6.2 is the last of the iron block motors. A good motor, although it still likes to rev. It will take a while to break in, but it seems to pull from the get go.
