Hello -
Looking for some info/guidance on the combination of my 2015 Chevy 2500HD with a 1996 Lance 8000 Ext. Cab. The truck weighs roughly 6750# and from what I can tell, the Lance weighs approximately 2400# (AC unit has been removed or else would be closer to 2500#). With myself, wife and son in the truck, we're probably approaching 7100#, putting us right at 9500# which is the gvwr of the truck.
I am adding a set of timbrens to the truck for added suspension.
Being our first truck camper, I'm looking for advice on whether or not this seems like a reasonable configuration or if we should be looking for something smaller. Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.

Here is the 1996 Lance brochure Click Here.
After water, propane, batteries and stuff it could come to 3,500-4,000lbs. I would go to a spring shop and tell them what you are loading and add the springs needed. Then make sure the tires are up to the load you are going to put on them. Hellwig Big Wig sway bar will help keep you steady on the turns.

2,400 pounds seems very low for a full size Lance camper. I would guess wet and loaded for camping closer to 4,000lbs.

Is that the Lance dry weight or loaded/wet weight?
