Whoa!!!!

Took it to the dealer because there is some moisture in the tail light and one small segment at the bottom has failed.

HOWEVER, for for a part that STARTS at $800 and goes up from there. I'll wait until it totally fails, if it ever does. Dealer couldn't quote the total price, because apparently these things are like little kits.

If it prevents even one accident it has more than paid for itself. It is great when you have to back out of a parking spot into traffic.

I was considering having one installed, but I agree with ACZL that it would be expensive when it needs to be fixed. Also, I already spent my money on new mud terrain tires that I'll be using in the upcoming weeks.

Here is a pair complete for $800 and they claim to be brand new OEM.

BLIS = Blind Spot Information System. The tail light has a radar sensor in the bottom section. This is where the $ goes.

I’m not sure if trust aftermarket radar to work exactly the same. Minor deviations in sensitivity could make it false alarm or not alert at all. Especially for Cross Traffic Alert.

2018 should be under warranty, unless it were damaged, in which case a comprehensive claim could be made.

I have found several MOPAR dealers that run on line parts stores. They sell OEM parts at a discount about 25% to 30%, stuff still isn't cheap.
Lost one of the front lug covers off our 2016 Ram DRW, I was quoted as high as $170 for a replacement at local dealers, without batting an eye. I found on line for about $98, and shipping took it to $110.
