265/70/18 275/70/18

Have a 2016 Chevy Duramax. The tire that came on it are 265/70/18 . Think when I need new tires going to 275/70/18 . I know that it will change the rear gearing . Has anyone went with the larger tire noticed any real world difference. My filth wheel weights about 11 thousand loaded

I have run 275/70/18's on my 2015 with zero issues. The tires were EXO Grapplers.

I have been running 285/70/18's on my 18. This took a little more work. The rim offset is -12 so they extend to just beyond the factory frame work. I have Bushwaker flares on it this offset had an effect on the tires. I had to pull the interior wheel well material back and tie it off with zip ties. I also had grind a little off a couple areas that protruded into the tire. Very small and was able to do with the tires on using a small angle grinder. It is tight but looks great. Took a little bit of a mpg hit with these tires over the 275 which was a slight hit over the 265. The EXO's are a HD tire and weigh up a bit more than many others, so depending on your tire your mpg may vary. There is a an offroad company here that makes a front bumper extension that adds some room by extending out the bumper a couple inches. I have a Ranch Hand Legend grill guard or I would do that.

I have a 2016 GMC 3500HD and am considering 285/65-18's. You get the same small increase in load rating but the overall tire height is the same as the stock size. It is a nice little increase in width, and everything I've read says it should fit without problem.

Don't have a Dmax. Got a CTD. Went from pizza cutter 245/70/17 to 275/65/18. My speedo is off by about 2-2.5 mph. Other than that I noticed no drop off in pulling power when towing. What I did get was a better mph vs rpm range. Before I would be in 5th and and taching a little high for cruising in the mtns. 6th dropped the rpms to low. Now 5th is perfect when running in the mtns. MPG dropped about 1-1.5 partly because I went from Michelin AT's to BFG KO2. My jump in size is a bit more than yours so guessing you won't notice much difference at all.

It won't make any difference with the truck you've got. Don't forget about your spare, though.

No, I have not made that change, but I don't think you would notice any gearing change, from that slight difference in actual diameter, especially with a diesel.
