Very shortly I am going to be replacing the cheap Chinese tires on my new camper. What are the benefits and disadvantages of running a 65 psi tires (Kumho 857) vs a 50 psi tire (Maxxis M8008). My wheels are rated to handle 65 psi tires. The camper came with 50 psi 205 75 14's.

The biggest benefit of the D tire over the C tire is those higher 65 pressures does a better job of holding the tires belts together as it side scrubs around corners....and runs cooler than the 50 psi tire.

Added benefit of the Kumho 857 over the Maxxis is your going to a commercial service tire which gets you away from a ST tire.

The Maxxis tires are rated at 1760 lbs and the Kumho's 2271. I am more concerned with towing (ride, bounce, effects on suspension, etc,) and safety. My thought is that the Kumho's would be safer because of their higher load and speed ratings. I will keeping speeds 70 and under.

Higher speed ratings , and higher capacity . plenty of spare capacity

I have 15" wheels and upgraded from load range C (50 PSI) to D (65 PSI) without a problem. The tire diameters were essentially the same. Use metal valve stems.

Likely the difference between load range D and load range E. It's not the PSI that's so important. Check the load range and capacity (like 2,500 lbs or 3,500 lbs) on the sidewall.
