I will be buying a new Starcraft Launch Ultra Lite 24 RLS within the next two weeks. I need to add a Class 2 receiver hitch to it to pull a Full Dress Harley on a small trailer, total weight 2000 lbs. or less.

Has anyone actually put on a frame mounted hitch on their TT or 5th wheel like this?

Dealer says they send theirs out to a local muffler shop, no problem...I don't always beleive the dealer especially before the sale..Lol..!!

Well I added a Curt Universal RV Hitch (Class 3) to the TT and a 4" Drop Down, picked up a 5x8 Mesh Trailer from Lowes, added a plywood floor, wheel chock, LED Tailights, and this is what it looks like, 63 foot Bumper to Bumper...

Hmm... I cannot figure out how to add a picture of the rig...Help..??

I believe Pennsylvania has a limit on the overall length of the TV and TT. Not sure on the double trailers though.

I did call ND Highway Patrol this morning to get an answer. Sounds like the stips are:
-Heavier must be pulled in front.
-First trailer must have brakes and safety chains.
-Second trailer must have chains.
-If second trailer is over 3,000 lbs, it must have brakes.

Kansa allows double tow, but you can't with 2 ball hitches.
Sorry but your wrong. I called before I put a hitch behind my TT to pull my jet ski. It was legal in MO, IA, and MN as well. I called each state to make sure it was legal.

Don't worry about the warranty. RV manufactures will refuse warranty claims on almost anything! My trailer had a 450lb water tank mounted on 1/2" OSB board. The OSB fractured and broke. The tank fell out on a 2011 trailer. Winnebago denied the claim. They said that the OSB is to support the tank, not the water.

There is a pic in The where do i put my atv thread. I dont have pics of the hitch. I started out pulling this setup with a Ford F250, then a Dodge 2500 and i now have a GMC dually. All were crewcabs and all pulled it just fine loaded exactly as you see in the pic. I only replaced the trucks because the Ford hit 100k mi and the Dodge was unreliable and the dlr couldnt seem to fix it.

OP Did you ever go through with it? I am interested to see your results. I am also interested in doing something similar. But with a total weight of around 1500lbs, not 2000.

Well I bought the trailer, and my Ram 1500 with a Hemi and 8-speed automatic pulls it fantastic..!!On April 03 however when driving home to lunch, traffic came to a stop on the freeway and I got rear ended by a Malibu doing 60 mph. My frame got buckled so the truck will be totaled. I'll need to shop for a new truck soon after the insurance gets straightened out...

None of the internet sites showing laws for towing are accurate. You need to check with each state you plan to tow in. Its perfectly legal and safe double towing 2 bumper pulls. I built my own hitch on mine and tow a 12 ft enclosed trlr with motorcycles in it behind my tt.

Thanks for your reply, just what I wanted to hear from someone who has done it successfully..!! If I may inquire as to the make and model of your tow vehicle and travel trailer? Any pics of your rig and or your hitch set up..?? Is it fairly stable and tractable..??Thank you so much in advance...
