Since I am now a new Dually truck owner would like to hear fellow DRW truck owners thoughts on tire rotation. Read on many truck forums that many owners do not rotate tires and some that do rotate...Opinions please.

DH has the tires rotated every other oil change because gets used mostly when we're camping May-Nov.

It's 4 yrs old and only has 24k miles. It's an indication that we should camp more.

I have a 2013 RAM Dually, the tire rotation is in the online manual as well as the tire supplement.

You rotate EVERYTHING side to side at every oil change (15,000 miles) leaving the spare out of the equation.

In my case with the aluminum rims that came with the truck, any other method would mean dismounting and re-mounting tires on different rims.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Mr. E, I will look online too. my truck has Alcoa wheels. Have 10,400 miles on truck now. Am also curious on mileage intervals too... seems to very on truck forums and dealership service department seemed unsure on mileage intervals.

I was curious about this with my dually class C and asked several folks involved with similar vehicles, tires, etc. (both through their work and their hobbies). They all said "you don't need to, but it won't hurt to do so". I figure I'll rotate within the next year (3 years into the tires' life).

Yeah Bill, I always rotated tires with my SRW but I read many Dually owners do not and some that do?

I rotate tires only to use the spare tire. I dislike having a spare with a different tread pattern so I wear it out also and buy 5 new tires.

I was thinking about this the other day and I am going to rotate mine every 10k miles. To make it fairly simple I am going to rotate front to back, only rotating the inside dual, because of tire direction.

Talked with dealer and they do rotate tires on 2015 Ram. Just curious. Do you rotate?

I am old enough to remember tire rotation having purpose of using spare tire.
Lot of cars, having directional tires and staggered wheels can't rotate the tires and those are top of the line vehicles.
On my Ford trucks, I often have uneven tire wear and cupping, where tire rotation is recommended.
Since I bought dually with front tires different than rear tires, I rotate side to side.
