Any Cardinal Deluxe info out there?

One of my good buddies from church has acquired a 1970 Cardinal Deluxe. Naturally no manual or other info. In particular he wants to know the weight of the trailer.

I couldn't find any manual or specs on the interweb, but I did find a quote on shipment that specified 1630 lbs. That seems a little light, but what do I know?

So if anyone out there has some info to share, it would be appreciated.

Normally I suggest searching this Forum for such answers but such a search in this case yields only the original post.
One possibility is to measure the footprint of the tires and multiply that area by the tire pressure to get an approximation of the weight.

CAT scales at Pilot, Love's, Flying J. He can weight the whole thing - truck and trailer, trailer or just tongue weight...it'll cost him about $15. Remember he'll have some irritable truckers waiting behind him, so maybe check with the facility and see when the slow-times are.

We had a 14' Cardinal. Not sure if it was the deluxe, it did have an electric recirculating toilet. I'm guessing it was around 1800 pounds ready to tow. Inherited it from my father-in-law who had removed the surge brake system. A dragging brake caused a wheel well fire and he eliminated that problem! We towed it with a Ford E250. Towed like it wasn't there. Hooked us on RVing (1977).
