At the end of my rope!!

I shouldn't even be writing this when I'm this mad but I have put hours and hours of work in my Alaska TR only to have it deleted or not saved at least a dozen times, GRRR......!!! I did save my last draft to an email so I wouldn't lose the last major draft I worked on. I have reached out to admin but no reply yet. When I go to save or preview my draft it goes to a captcha popup asking me if I'm a robot and when I check that or identify what they want me to identify then it goes to an error message and deletes my draft!! Pretty **** frustrating!!! It has done the same thing on 3 different computers. Maybe I need to register with a new name or maybe I just need to quit trying to post! The last time I tried to answer someone's post it deleted it when I pressed "Post Message", we'll see if this post goes through or not.

They just want you to become an expert at creating trip reports, via repetition. 😄

Either that, or to buy more rope at CW.

The problem experienced by the OP is one of the main reasons my trip reports are on my blog -- I then post a link on the forum. That way, even if this forum or others delete my post, I still have access to it.

Until Google goes out of business, of course. 😉

I updated my first post in this thread that didn't include this url https://forums.goodsamclub.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/listings/forum/27.cfm Sometimes, the rv.net version is more picky than the goodsamsclub version. Unclear as to why, but it's the case nevertheless.

Hmm I'll have to try turning off add blocker. Dont mind the extra level of security- its the results thats puzzling, either get invalid topic error, returns to original edit window with edits removed, or opens up the Open Roads home page. Sometimes just reopens the captcha page and get to start over, and over...

Since I work the TR sticky and edit long post monthly, I've run into this problem from time to time. Best I've found is using rv.net portal. When I the post doesn't go through, I just log out, log back in, and then 98% of the time it works. When it doesn't, I wait until the next day and repeat the process.

While the security headaches are a problem, it's a result of the folks trying to keep the site secure and the bad boys at bay so they don't cause folks harm. They do a pretty good job too.

Why not link to your trip report instead of trying to post the report. People can click on the link and read it. Might save you a lot of frustration.

Yeah, I've seen the captcha thing as well. An ad-blocker usually can trigger it, as the software blocks some of the tracking cookies from the site.

I got the robot thing myself recently. Not sure what that is about. If you saved the content and it just won't post that sucks but at least you didn't spend hours constructing a post which has evaporated. Smart to work offline and paste the content.

Looking forward to your Alaska report. We spent the summer there ourselves and it's always cool to see where others have been.
