battery in frig

Anybody ever hear of a battery being in the control circuitry of an Rv frig?

Sorry folks, false alarm. "Battery" turned out to be an electrical cover upon closer inspection. Another lesson learned! HA!

This was my first thought, ie, someone was proficient enough to do a "factory install". Hoping to see a pic today. Would be interested to see what's going on with this strange anomaly.

I've never heard of an aux battery for the refer either.

Don't know. Belongs to a friend. Trailer new to him. It's outside the trailer under the exterior cover. He swears it's a factory installation. I had never heard of it before.

In addition to the 12 vdc system? This is an older frig (03) and has an additional battery installed in the circuit. Like an emergency light battery in size. Small dry cell.

Newer RV refrigerators need 12 volts to operate.
