Beeping Propane Tanks

We have a Palamino Puma TT 30DBSS. When we use the propane there is a beeping sound that comes from the tanks. Is this a problem? I guess it has been doing this since we purchased the TT but we are little more concerned now because it stopped for a while and now it is making this noise again.

Any help is appreciated.

I Have a 2010 puma , bought new, the propane tanks beeped new, the fix was replace the pig tail hoses with larger hoses, problem solved.

Mine usually chirps when the level gets below around 1/3 tank. The next time it happens switch to the full tank and see if it stops.

Mines not really a beep but more of a low frequency ping every 3-4 seconds when it really warm outside and more than one appliance is drawing propane. It's the regulator.

Dumb question...is your tank valve all the way open?

Another thing that comes to me is maybe your leak protection valve is engaged....

Close both tank valves and run the stove until the gas is bled out of the lines.

Start with the tank that the changeover valve, if equipped, is set to. Crack the valve just a little for about 10 secs, then SLOWLY open the valve the rest of the way. Repeat for the other tank (no need to change selector switch).

Use the stove to bleed the air from the line. I use a lighter at the burner until it lights.

See if this helps.

If not, you can try this (if you feel comfortable).

Close both tanks, bleed lines, remove the offending tank and take it to an open area free from flames. Wear a pair of gloves is best.

Point valve opening away from you and using the gloved hand, open the valve rapidly. Don't point it at your face or anything. Gas should come out very fast at first and quit after about a second.

Close the valve and wait about 5 mins, then put it back on camper and remember to open it slowly.

If the valve is 'sticky' this can force it to slam shut, which *may* help your problem.

OTOH, if both tanks make the noise, it is probably your regulator.

My Roo does the same thing. It stopped for a while but I think it was because the first tank emptied and it switched over. Now with both tanks full, I'm sitting by the campfire listening to the bleeping beep beep beep.

My new Puma 26rks did that on our 2nd trip last year. Turned out it was a faulty tank valve. Swapped for a different tank at the dealer. No problem since.

Now that's odd. Never in 30 years of RVing have I ever heard of beeping tanks.

I am sure the sound is coming from the lines or when the propane leaves the LP tank. We will try new hose pigtails and see if that works. We have not had a problem with the propane flow, the sound is just real annoying.

The upside is, we always know when something is running on propane ๐Ÿ™‚

When I first saw the thread title, I thought you were angry at your tanks and "beeping" was your way of self-censoring the word you were thinking. lol

BTW - I don't know what would make your beeping tank do that.

Does it have two tanks and does it beep from either tank?
I do remember a few years ago someone reported that theirs had a buzzing type sound and it took new hose pigtails (from tank to regulator) to stop it.

Are you sure it isn't something else? I can't imagine any way that an LPG cylinder would beep.

Ok, if this is the reason, why do I have the only TT in the campground beeping every time I use my water heater? LOL! I'm a little embarrassed sometimes.

No, it's just propane in vapor form passing the diaphragm. They ahve arubber diaphragm that helps heat the liquid to vapor.
