Connecting to water pump for winterizing

After taking a week in Lancaster where the temps have dropped, we need to winterize our TT and our local dealer is 10 days out and cannot help so we are attempting to do it ourselves. We have emptied the water heater, all drains and positioned the valves for bypass. Now we are at the point to connect the hose to the water pump and draw from the antifreeze containers. We thought the proper line was the line in white in the right of the picture, but when we turned on the water pump it start blowing back into the jug so it must be wrong. The is another connection on the left (black) that could be the right one but we are not sure and it is really hard to get to. Can any one help us? hopefully the picture comes up. We have a 2013 Freedom Express RLS.

Update...2 hours later....we figured it out.. had the wrong end of the pump...All is well. Always something to learn.....

I have helped winterize other campers. If the pump direction is hard to decipher, after figuring it out, I write with a permanent market "IN" with an arrow on the incoming side of the pump.

Helps me, the current owner, and any future owners 😉

Thanks all....we figured out what we were doing wrong. The correct connection end sure was hard to get to....

I think I'll pass on the cold weather camping for now.....and winterized a little sooner. God Bless and here's waiting for spingtime....

I installed this inline adaptor; makes for an easy job.

RV antifreeze needs to feed into pump from the same line that is connected between your fresh water tank and pump. It sounds like you are connected to pump outlet line. Just switch to other side of pump and see if that helps. If line is difficult to get to, you may be able to get a piece of line and connect to pump inlet. Then stick other end in jug of antifreeze.

Also make sure that you use RV antifreeze , vehicle kind is POISON.
