Correct Truck

I am looking to purchase a Grand Design Momentum TH 376th. The GVWR is 20,000lbs. The truck I am looking to use for this is the 2017 F350 dually with the diesel. Do have enough truck once loaded with golf cart and necessary camping essentials?

Marty, I would argue fuel economy on these trucks has gone up significantly, especially considering the increase in power they have.

MPG took a hit when new EPA regulations first came out, but the new trucks seem to report better MPG than any prior year diesels, and now have nearly twice the torque that trucks did just 10-15 years ago.

I think there is still room for improvement, but when a 2017 RAM has 385/900 gets as good as, or even better MPG than my old 2003 RAM with 305/555, I don't think you can really complain.

You also have to consider a 2017 Ram is a 1000# heavier than a 2003 was. My Mega Cab is just shy of 2000# heavier than my 2005 QC SB Ram Cummins is.

WHAT!!!!!!!!

You all are being nice?!?!???

What is this poor chebby guy to do if we are not blasting Frods and Dogde trucks.......

Reality is, most brands have been more than capable for some 20 years. IMHO, since about 1995-2000, ALL brand models have stepped up in a major fashion, to being better than previous years. There does seen to be another step up occurring. Again IMHO, the issue I see, is all getting bigger, meaning heavier base weights, yes heavier gvwr, but really no more payload than in past. Fuel economy is not really going up per say.....that may also be because engineers can only go so far reducing aerodynamics, friction etc.

I could be wrong but it seems like there far fewer people that get their panties in a knot and get defensive as their used to be???? So that IMHO is a big improvement.

I think the Moderators have a lot to do with this. Heck even "FISH" has been behaving fairly well. :B

Yes and since Ford stepped up their trucks for 2017 they get credit it where it's due.

They were past due for a major frame update, however loyalist continued to purchase their trucks, so it took them longer than GM and RAM to do it.

Now all three have very robust frames and towing capabilities. Everyone wins. Buy the one you and your DW like the best. There is no wrong choice, unless one is still goosey about the CP4-2 injection pump. The Ford Torque Shift is a great tranny BTW.

Pretty good... 4 "supposed" Ram "Fan boys" all stating the Ford F-350 is more than up to the job the OP asked about:BS. So much for the other rhetoric that was espoused.:p

3,250# Avg. pin weight.

Read that as DRY pin weight.
If you never plan to add anything to the trailer, then maybe. After you load it it? Probably not.
With 20K GVWR that means fully loaded your pin weight could be over 4000 pounds.
A Ram dually with all the towing options might do it.

F350 DRW will have a payload between 5500-7000lbs. Plenty of payload but of course the Ram boys always have to try to convince otherwise.

RAM Guy here. A 17 F350 should do the job right out of the box with no mods. 16 or earlier would need air bags, most likely.
