I'm upgrading a truck.and i've been looking at a 2015 f150 2.7l v6 eco boost engine.
i've seen good and bad reviews on them, but does anyone have a truck camper with this truck ? or ecoboost style engine ?

I'm looking to get a palomino truck camper, ranging from 1400-1600 for weight.
and looking to have it on an f150.

does anyone have input on what fuel economy is like with this truck ?

or do you suggest another style truck/brand for hauling a truck camper around.

from june to oct. it'll be a truck camper truck and be on full time. other wise the camper will be off and i'll be using it as an every day truck.

please help me if anyone has this truck.

My wife and I had a Chevrolet 2500 with a Lance 850 camper on it. We still added airbags a year later and the handling improvement and ride improvement was amazing. An F150 sounds a little small.

You really need to look at the truck's payload rating. Probably not more than 1500 lbs. Overloading a half ton is generally a miserable experience, and you'll be hard pressed to find a camper that doesn't. And a diesel just reduces your payload. You don't need to worry about power as much as payload.

i think if i were to get a truck of that size (2500) i probably would consider diesel.
i assume more weight and then able to maintain some decent milage ?

JMHO. My Jeep has a 36L and it's a toad. If I was going to a TC again I would go to a F350. F150 2.7L ? Great for a bag of groceries and 4 passengers :h

No matter how many claims mfgs like to talk about, the sad truth is real world load carrying capacity once you add your personal stuff, and more than one 150 pound occupant capacity drops like a rock. That holds true for any brand and any size truck. Get yourself a 2500 gas motor long bed truck, pick your light camper and go happy.

oh is that so ? what about them didn't have the bad rep, if you don't mind me asking. as this is my first truck camper/any camper really.

i looked at the pop ups, but the electrical system didn't look ideal, and future failures. but i thought about the hard side ones ,just for a 4 season type camper also.

yeah that is true. ideally i know of the camper style i wanted, which the specs would apparently fit with the f150 box. but i was only recently considering a 2500 cummins.

just think the f150 would be more idea...sure the camper will be on for the summer, but after that mostly it'll be parked and the half ton would be easier around the city. other wise, i get a diesel and the camper could potentially just stay on it all year around.haha

IMO, you limit yourself too much with a 150, just step up to the 350 and you'll have a lot more options for campers. check the prices the HD truck isn't really that much more.
