Extended Warranty- is it worth it?

Good morning,
I just purchased a new Winnie Drop and need to decide if I should get an extended warranty. Has anyone ever purchased one and if so was it worth it? I was told on another forum that usually these warranties donโ€™t cover things that go.
TIA!

Thanks everyone for your responses! I am going to hold off on getting he extended warranty. Hubby is pretty handy.

In general, extended warranties are rarely worth it for anything - RV's, autos, homes or the ones at Walmart that they offer every time you buy an electronic. They are very close to 100% profit for dealers and that's why they push them so much.

the very best warranty on the market, you make your self. take the cost of a warranty and bank it, add $25.bucks every month, when some thing big breaks its covered. by you. call a mobil tech to fix it . there smarter, cheaper, and they come to you. and you get to help,or watch an learn.

Personally, I don't think they are worth it. But, we got one on our current camper. So when we really had a problem after the first year, found out, the one thing we needed wasn't included. What was it? Paint!

If you get an extended warranty, make sure they include outside paint repair and repaint.

Our front cap started fading after the first year. Because the first year of bumper-to-bumper normal warranty was now over, the "extended" kicked in. No problem. Everyone agreed the front cap was fading, making bad spots and needed a repaint ... everyone agreed except the extended warranty. It was the ONLY exclusion.

My dealership negotiated with Keystone and we ended up getting it repainted. They paid for it. But we had to pay for the graphics replacement.

So, if you ARE going to get the extended warranty, make sure it covers paint too!

FYI, this is our second trailer we got an extended warranty with and we've never had to use it. My advise.... save your money and when something needs fixed after the first 1 year, just pay for it and forget it. The are in business to take your money ... not help you.

Generally no, but one could argue "it depends" ... if you're a DIY type of person, have a place and the appropriate tools to work on your rig then definitely not but if you're the type who needs to be shown where the door is on your new camper then it could be reasonably argued you're just the sort of person who needs extended warranty coverage. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Interior fabric protection and exterior protection coatings not worth it either.

Well, let's put it this way: NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read the contract fine print and I think you'll be surprised at what would be covered and what's not. Things that don't often break in the early years are covered while things that do break more often aren't.
Invest the $$ in a few tools & spares and learn to fix things yourself.

Not worth it. Check the exceptions and copays.
