F150 Max Tow, Heavy Duty Payload on the lot

Not that I'm in the market for a new truck, but I ran across an F150 max tow, HD payload truck on a dealer lot. These are quite rare. It's in Indianapolis. Someone go buy it!

I'll keep what I have thank you very much.

(is that really what new trucks cost now?)

Wait, people actually pay MSRP for a vehicle? Especially for a truck that is about to be replaced by an all new model?

I know it's has 8200 GVWR but being a Lariat, the payload is going to take a big hit. All those nice little options slowly pick away at reducing your payload. Believe me, I know.

Be interesting to see the door sticker. I'd be surprised if it's makes it over 2000lbs.

I see your point though OP, if someone was looking for one and didn't want to wait after ordering, it is there for the taking. It is a rare find indeed, but I would still negotiate hard if I was considering it. Me, I love my gas F250. 2876 lb payload, and rides like a dream, towing our 26 footer or not. The mileage? Not so much, but it's not a daily driver so I don't worry. Oh yes, and I paid $38K for it, (nicely equipped XLT).

I bet my F250 XLT and it's 65k sticker would shock many here! Sticker is only suggested though, it seems to always end up 15-20% less.

Ya, $55k for anything is crazy! even high $40`s is nuts. I paid $19k for my X when it was 2 years old. for that price you can get a very nice older Class A and if you look hard enough a DP.

I'm all for letting someone else take the initial depreciation hit, but a class A doesn't make a very good daily driver, and "older" often means costly repairs are near at hand.

Again, who pays sticker price on a new rig?

No it doesn`t make a good daily driver, but a $25k car that gets 30mpg is much better every day than a fullsize truck!

As far as sticker, well it depends on the deals going on!

My 2013 is loaded out even has the adjustable pedals/Sirius radio, camera etc. Windowed at $44,500 with the EcoBoost. Paid $33,800. 4X4. Should have gotten the longer bed, but with a couple cheap modifications, as good as the heavy tow package.

Have you guys priced loaded heavy duty trucks lately? Nearly $70k MSRP. Can you option them with less, sure. I personally don't like stripped down or used cars. I like new shiny things. That's just me. Different strokes for different folks. I also don't want to drag around a 40' 5th wheel all over the country. I'm no where near retirement so I just want a 25-27' travel trailer that I can take just about anywhere without having to worry about size. My kids are almost grown so I also don't need a large trailer for them. Just the wife and I. So to me, a max tow, heavy duty payload F150 would be perfect for me. Good daily driver and excellent tow vehicle for a 25-27' travel trailer.

Up here in Connecticut, yep, that's what you'll pay for a loaded truck like that. I would love some of the options that are listed, like the tail gate step! I bought my F250 about a week before Ford came out with the tail gate step option!

A few years ago I saw a "Platinum" F150 that was $60,000+ in my local dealers lot. I could not understand why it was so much more than a Lariat or other loaded model, except it had an extreme amount of plastic "chrome" all over the place. I have not seen a Platinum F150 in awhile, I don't know if they discontinued that model? Especially as it competed with the King Ranch model, which was supposed to be the top of the line.
