Failed Rieco Titan remote - updated w/pics

Just wondering if any of you have any suggestions where to get a replacement black/wireless remote for the Rieco Titan jacks. My "All Down" button is stuck and won't stop transmitting.

Called Rieco, they want $149, asked Mr. Google, and only one place came up I've never heard of for $101. Local dealer parts counter is closed today.

Part number for the remote alone is 36412. But like I said, I checked Mr Google and it only had 1 hit. None at Amazon or Ebay.

A little dab of silver loaded epoxy, glue or paint LIKE HERE

That's all that is on the plastic to begin with. Take loose pieces off so it's smooth, apply silver loaded glue, let dry, reassemble.

I found this at Panther RV, which is even more $$ ($250) but at least your getting more than just a piece of plastic and you have an emergency backup control.

Oh the system came with both the black wireless and red wired backup. Since the black one was broke anyway, I didn't really see the harm in tearing into it. When I found the problem....you'll love this... I tore into the backup also and swapped the tops/pads. New black top is coming, but right now I have a red-top/black bottom remote.

Oh my, how embarrassing :o:B

You can try to apply a light coat of flexible adhesive, line the inside of the key pad with foil and touch up the outside with a clear enamel. Too bad it does not use the graphite contact pads on the buttons.

Just got off the phone with Rieco again. $50 for a new top-only. Call me an old fart, but wow, $50 for a piece of plastic.

Oh well... Gotta pay to play. I've spent $50 on far worse. A stripper in Yuma AZ named 'Bucktooth Betty' comes to mind. Kidding....

If you cannot fix it, you need a 36412 remote like you posted unless you need the red emergency remote too: https://www.rvautoparts.com/36412-Rieco-Titan-Products-Camper-Jack-Remote-Control-Unit-For-Use_p_385...

BTW: I thought Eagle Cap used Happijac gear?

Yes, my TC came with Crappijac's. They could not lift the camper, they would ratchet the safety clutch trying to lift it, so I opted to swap out the entire system. I also too the opportunity to rewire the entire system with 8ga wire to the jacks and 4ga to the controller. That was a couple weekends to do all the rewiring. I did post a write up of the whole thing here when I did it. At the time, the Rieco's had a much higher weight rating. Never had a problem since, until now...

So - the remote, that's the one and only place I mentioned above I could find that has it for $101, but it also says 'Back Order"... Sooooo, the factory wants $149. I'm hoping they'll sell me just the part I need.

It is unrepairable without a new pad. Here's the pics, and here's why---

Looks brand new, right?

And here's the failure point, a super thin piece of what is basically aluminum foil. I called Rieco yesterday, they can fix or replace---Hopefully I won't have to pay a $75 repair fee, or a $149 replacement fee. I'm hoping they'll just send me a new top.

I had my Arctic Fox remote stuck in a logic loop that required pulling the battery and shorting across the power posts to clear it. If you have not done this, it's worth a try.

I have also had to deal with non-serviceable keypads, but this was in a microwave oven. I skillfully disassembled the oven only to find the same style keypad you described. I was tempted to wire in my own bypass switch, but my wife would not have appreciated the engineering feat. The microwave that survived six moves was defeated by a non-serviceable keypad.

My keypad also “stuck”. Sent it back to Rico and they replaced it for about $100

Basically, they're not serviceable.

It's a sealed printed sticker/wafer type design, not like a TV remote. I do have to take apart my TV remotes from time to time and clean those, this isn't like those. FYI, FWIW, I'm an Electrical Engineer.

This same type of stick-on button-to-contact design is used on my buddy's Toyhauler leveling system, same thing happened to his. Trying to "peel" the button top off ruins the whole thing. We had to get him a new one.

Have you tried opening up the remote and clearing the jammed button? It may just need cleaned inside where the buttons are.
