Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs longevity?

Since I have 8 years and close to 80k miles on my 2005 Ram 1-ton diesel truck hauling my 9.5' Bigfoot TC - I'm wondering about the longevity of the air bags. They were installed when the truck/camper were new. They don't last forever do they?

Anyone had theirs fail due to "old age" and/or simply worn-out (not due to over/under inflation)? Should I worry?

I've had mine since 2004 without any problems at all. And I've used them at very cold temperatures. They are holding up great after 87k miles.

I do a fare amount of off pavement in my rig. Was doing fine 30,000 Hiway & Forest Service roads. Took a trip to run some of the Colorado passes that are old mining roads. 1st day Ophir Pass rated 2/10 was fine. 2nd day Imogene Pass 3/10 I blew a bag and was in danger of other damage due to the dead bag. Made it out to Montrose and had a 4x4 shop strip out the bags and install Roadmaster Active Suspension. Continued on with other passes rated 3/10 and had no further problems.

I bought my bag used, and installed them in 2002. I have over 175,000 miles on them.

My Ride-Rites were installed Jul 04. I've hauled a Lance 1121 through thick and thin for over 200k miles. Me and the bags still hold air.:B

Mine are 9 years old with a lifetime warranty. I bought the on-board compressor and installed it which gave me the lifetime warranty on mine. Mine are still doing great but are only a year maybe 2 older than yours. I got mine in the spring of 2004.
