I do like the looks of that truck - might break down and try my luck with Ford again - after swearing off them forever when my exploder exploded.

Can they easily be flat towed?

It is going to be a crowded field. The Ford has to compete with the leader Taco and the brand new uber cool Gladiator not to mention the GM twins.

They better not cost too much.

Our local Ford dealer just got the ranger window sticker 45,000 !!!

I sat in one over the weekend, was a FX4 crew cab XLT with adaptive cruise, WIFI, Auto climate sys, remote start and navigation.

Sticker was right at 40K I'd guess sales price would be 37-38K once the furor dies down on them.

This complaining about price got me thinking, so I did some digging.

My 1991 Ext cab V6 2wd was about 12K sticker price, it had 185 series 14" tires, a tachometer, rear ABS, A/C and a tape deck as options.
$12K 1991 money would be worth about 22500 in 2019.

I built a 2019 Ranger supercab optioned as closely as I could to my 1991 truck, and the price is 25K. And that includes power windows, locks, airbags, etc.

So a 2,500 increase is less than I would have guessed.

I can't believe they put a dog in the rear trailer! Maybe it was for tongue weight or something?!

It has the smaller but newer 2 litre Biturbo turbo that theoretically out pulls the 3.2 Diesel.
Negative is the engine braking is not as good, but the Diesel is considerably more responsive and fuel efficient
44,000lb Caravan towing stunt was done in England, all of the Caravans are car towable lightweight units
Here is a Biturbo pulling a 23ft Caravan

3.2 Diesel pulling a 27ft lightweight 8,000lb 5th Wheeler

No, they said 3.5 tonnes. Imperial or metric ton to us.

It works out to 7840 lbs.

If you read any of the article it says 44,092 pounds and

At the end they say "pull 3.5 tons of whatever you want". They must have those trailers stripped inside to only weigh that much. It would be interesting to see them do a sudden lane change.
