Ford suspension

I'm researching new tow vehicles (Chevy and Ford), I currently tow with a 2001 Silverado 3500 DRW, 6.0l with a 4l80e. My trailer has a pin weight of 2140 with a trailer weight of 10,460, this is loaded for a two week trip including 1/3 full water tank. I'm not concerned about towing, I'm concerned about the sag or squatting I hear about in the Fords. I'm concidering a Ford F-350 or a Chevy 3500 both DRW. I don't want to drop $50-60k and have to upgrade the suspension. I would like to hear from Ford guys about their experience. Thank you!

So is this an open invite for a "Ford guy" or "GM guy" to enter into Ram threads because they believe the Ram thread needs "extra info" on how he thinks his favorite truck make is better than the vehicles on topic? If they are doing this now and you don't like it, then this makes you no better than they are.

Actually go back and read. There were three "Ram guys"(ib516, rhagfo, and dodge guy) that posted mentioning Rams in this thread before anyone said anything negative toward Rams. If those three "Ram guys" would not have said anything then I doubt that a Ram truck would have been mentioned. So blast those "Ram guys" for not respecting the OP in the first place. Why don't you jump those guys? Oh wait, they get a pass because they are fellow Ram guys.

This is why I will comment an alternate answer to a question or comment. There are a lot of people that may not know something that can be helped make a decision. If you are convinced about your opinion just read on but there are others that do appreciate different opinions and options.

"I personally enjoy the diversity of opinions concerning TV's. Conversation is one of the great tools we have to learn new things.

For instance, I read your post tonight earlier in the tread about your pin weight being well over five thousand lbs... I know you run the Caddy of hitches the B&W... But I didn't think they were rated for 5,000 lbs... Quick search on B&W's site showed me that not only can they carry 5,000 lbs easily, they are rated for 6,250 pin weight.

I don't appreciate insults and name calling. They are fruitless.

OP... You shouldn't need to worry about sag with the weight you are looking at.

Thanks!

Last post then I'm done. The OP didn't mention until later about why he didn't want a dodge. Then after we read why we tried to let him know how things have changed. It was a few others that pushed it to where it is now! The "Ram" guys are only guilty of offering more info to the OP!

350 VS 3500 Dually's that is what I want to see. I know the margin is big for RAM with the independent RV haulers and hot shotters.

In addition to your reading comprehension problem it appears you also have a memory problem! Just a hint... The numbers don't match your story. ๐Ÿ™‚ But only the kool aid drinkers believe you anyways!

BTW... I live near a Camping World and a Holiday World (two very big RV dealers) and I see who's towing campers in and out of these facilities every day. You might be surprised. :W

In addition I was shocked that I actually saw 2 Hell Cat Challengers this week.

"In addition to your reading comprehension problem"

I don't personally slam you, I may disagree on most things you write but I don't personally berate you.

So lets keep it civil and keep on disagreeing.

You know I am correct that the "independent" RV haulers and HotShotters choose RAM's more than Ford or GM.

And I know you are probably correct that the Fleet owners buy more Fords.

I would not be surprised since I know RAM then GM not far behind and Ford way back. Used to be just the opposite a few years back with GM and Ford. But the guys that depend on their trucks every day became tired of all the problems with the 6.0 and 6.4 and went to either RAM or GM. Over time the numbers may change.

How about you respect the OP question and quit spewing your nonsense.

That's fine, I thought we could be civil and I think I tried beyond what most would have. I have been asked several times why don't you block Fish and I say I don't block anyone and I still won't. But it's getting more tempting.

Oh well I tried.

You do realize this thread had zero to do with Ram until the agenda was pushed. So was it Ram haters or the Ram rioters doing the no Ram no peace.
