Frayed cable

Does anyone have a clue who will do cable repair on a pop up? Looking for a shop in Southwestern Virginia / upper East TN / Eastern KY / NW NC.

My electric winch for raising and lowering is acting up and likely needs replacing. Also, have a frayed cable getting ready to break on me. Rockwood Premier 2516. Anyone know the cable layout?

Most run a single cable right down the center to a pulley at the back, then back to the front. The 2 exceptions I know of were, the Jaycos with the cable above the floor. They had the crank in the right front corner. And the Colemans that had the crank at the rear center. I don't think they used a cable.

Not sure what the OP has, but would question you most. Starcraft wraps 4 cables, 1 for each lift-post around a single drum. Others use a jack screw to move a bar that pulls cables.

Kev,

Google cable lifting system for (your trailer). You will get many hits. There are also YouTube videos that can show you how to replace cables. Give this a shot.

Iโ€™ve heard of people doing this their selves.they made it sound fairly simple. Iโ€™ve never owned a pop- up so I have no personal experience.
