Gas fridge not always lighting

My Norcold model 6053 gas / electric automating lighting fridge with replacement Dinosaur Board has been acting up. When set to gas the sparker clicks and sparks (I think) and sometimes it tries to fire with a poof but, won't quite start to burn.(This is what leads me to believe the sparker is working correctly) If I put a grill lighter in the peep hole when it is sparking it will light right up. What should I check for first? (Yes, the propane tank is full and when lit the flame seems normal)

Looks like you fixed it, that is good. Thanks for letting us know 🙂

For those that may have a similar problem, the gap on a Dometic should be 3/16 inch. I suspect a Norcold would be about the same.

Well, just in case this thread ever shows up in a search I thought I should say that I solved the problem. It was the electrode, or what ever you call it, being out of adjustment. I bent it ever so slightly further away from, and bent it closer, to the middle of the burner. Before it was sparking a weak spark on the edge of the burner and the gas would not light. Now it has a nice strong spark in the middle of the burner and the gas lights up every time.

No spider. I took the cover off and did a better inspection. It sparks but, does not light even though there is gas there. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the probe the spark comes out of is too close to the burner so that the spark is too small and won't light the gas. I thought I read one time somewhere that it is suppose to be a certain distance from the burner. Does anyone know what this distance might be?

No air in the lines but, the spider thing is something I will check out.

Check and make sure the burner and gas assembly are clean, I had a spider move into that area and had the same symptoms,I could hear it click, but would get the "Check" light a few minutes later,, pulled the cover off and blew compressed air through it and a small spider scrambled out of the gas valve outlet area. Has been ok since.

Make sure you don't have any air in the gas lines. I light my stove burners first for about 45 secconds, then start the fridge. Ofcourse this only applys the first time after propane was turned off.
