Gas Mileage for F150 5.4

Newbie question:

I'm trying to get a handle on what to expect for gas mileage. My "new" 2007 Maxlite 23RS will be pulled with my F150 CrewCab 5.4. Is there a rule of thumb as to what to expect?

The worst I’ve gotten is 9 and the best, 17. But those are single tank mileages and not a good indicator. Overall, I’m barely shy of 14. But I’m pulling a 16’ 3000# TT with a 2001 F150 3:55. Air resistance of pulling a billboard through the air is the main culprit. In my case, I only drive the flats to the next mountain, so weight is a bigger factor to me than the norm. Your TT is a lot heavier, so I would guess you’d be in the area of 10mpg.

I have a 09 F250 with this motor. If I drive 75 I get 6 to 9. If I slow it down to 60-65 I can push 11. Speed kills the MPG. But if your worried about this, your in the wrong hobby.

It isn't so much the weight as the drag and the wind. With the 5.4 in good tune, 10 mpg on a good day no wind and flat ground and then subtract based on grade and weather.

10 mpg plus or minus, usually minus. Mileage depends on loss of factors but on flat land with low frontal wind and on cruise control you may see 10 mpg. With no wind or a tail wind you may see a slight increase.

8 mpg! Ford F-150 are built strong but for pulling a Heavy Camper the gas mileage sucks.
I wouldn't Trade it for the world.

Had a 2006 5.4 SCab F-150 pulling a 22'/5,000# TT for 4+ years. Consistently got 11+ using a Scan Gauge which educated my right foot. Just go light on the gas, especially off the line and you might even see 12 once and a while.

I get 9 or 10 pulling my trailer. I have 3.55 gears and rarely run in overdrive.

I'm pulling a larger unit (2009 Conquest 295BHS), but I'm getting anywhere from 25L/100km to 20L/100km or 9-11 MPG with my 2010 F-150 5.4 Crew. Really depends on where (hills or flats) you're pulling.
Since I live in western Alberta I generally expect the crappier side of fuel mileage due to the whole mountains thing in this area.
