gray tank

havent had a chance to go out yet on a camping trip with the new camper. this is my first camper. the walk around was pretty much useless. my question is the gray tanks. its a coleman ctu297re. it has what appears two drains for the gray tanks. on one side it is gray and black. two feet away is another gray valve? ive looked at the specs for my camper and it says its 1 gray tank at 78 gallons. seems like an awefully big tank to support under there as one unit. its sealed underneathe. im heading out next week on a trip with it but i was wondering is it was an either or drain on it? kind of annoying to have two diff valves i think.

Your black tank drains thru the 3" line
The shower grey tank drains thru the 1 1/2" line that ties into the 3" line at elbow
The galley (kitchen grey) drains thru it's own line...looks like a 1 1/2" with a 3" drain cap (so that regular sewer hose can be connected)

You can connect the two drains lines to a 'Y' connector and then to sewer dump
OR swap sewer hose from one to other when you dump.

If it is a brand new trailer you can fill tanks with water and dump anywhere you want. I was amazed at how much construction debris came out of our tanks when we were learning what was what and what went where. I think some of the 2x material would have actually plugged up a slinky if given a chance so I am glad we pulled the valves while sitting in the driveway. If this is a used unit you should wait to get to a sewer to hook it to.

2 gray tanks and 1 black tank is a very common set up

Just remember everyone was a rookie at one time.....I believe you probably have 2 gray water tanks and a Black water tank. Same set up as I have. Sure you will get it figured out for sure as soon as you get it on to a site and start playing....Been out 3 times with our newest RV and even though this is my 4th RV I am still learning !!

A quick look at your monitor panel should tell you if you have three waste tanks or two. If you have only two tamks being monitored, you have only two tanks plus FW tank but if you have three waste tanks plus FW tank the you have two gray (1 gray and 1 galley tank).

here is the first valve under the bathroom: sticker says black and gray.

this is also part of the first valve under bathroom:

here is the valve about 2 or 3 feet away on same side: has a gray sticker over it on the camper.

ill just drain the black/gray first and then the other gray if thats the case. to be honest, where i have my trailer parked in my yard up against my shed i cant get into it to check the monitors. this weekend ill check her out. just wanted to know if someone had similar trailer but seems rare so far. hopefully thats a good sign!

The rearward second valve.......does it have it's own drain line with end cap

OR does it's drain line connect to the main drain line where the black & other grey dump?

Two separate drain lines.......get a sewer 'Y' adapter and more hose(s) so you can hook both drain lines into 'Y' and then to sewer dump
OR dump front (black/grey) then move hose to rear grey (galley---kitchen sink) line.

All drains go to one line......
Easy....dump black, then galley then grey (just have to open the valves)

The galley grey is probably smaller capacity then the shower grey tank

Enjoy your new trailer.......go camping!

My bet is that the 78 gal. gray water capacity is divided into 2 tanks. (that's how ours is.)
Mine: 1 gray tank for the kitchen sink....and 1 tank for the shower and bathroom sink.

Then there is a separate tank for the toilet. (black tank).
We have 3 separate valves but they all collect into on final drain line where we connect the sewer hose.
