HELP with Honda Generator install.

Has anyone put a Honda EU3000 on their truck camper. I have a Lance 945 and the old General gave up the ghost. I'd rather have the Honda over and Onan because of the noise. I just don't know how to vent the exhaust and don't know if it will run cool enough in the generator compartment on the Lance. I plan on converting it to run off of LP like the old generator.

I've read that a few people have tried a 2000, but the 3000 is about double the size and weight, right? I haven't read about anyone doing a LP conversion for a gasoline generator although there are a few brands that run on both.

Personally, I think you'd be better off looking into insulating the compartment and running synthetic oil in an Onan if you really want a LP solution.

Also, there are a lot of easy fixes for LP generators, so don't be surprised if there is a relatively cheap fix.

An enclosed generator such as a Honda EU series aren't intended to be installed in an enclosed generator compartment.

I can't imagine how an EU3000i would even fit in a truck camper gen compartment due to the height of the generator.

I ruled it out as too many obstacles.
1. Honda 3000 is heavier than Generac 3600 and original rear location was stretch from the design board. My 12' camper has COG behind rear axle already.
2. cooling and venting would have to take major redesign
3. don't thing General compartment would be big enough for Honda 3000.
4. Running generator on propane calls for looking for propane fill station twice a week and that proves to be big hassle.
I was carrying 2 gas cans in former generator compartment, to add to Honda tank and left 1 propane cylinder at home, what not only lighted the camper, but gave me storage for small BBQ and snorkeling gear.
Honda 3000 runs solid 12 hr on its 3 gallons tank and AC constantly on, so 2 gas cans gave me fuel for 48hr of continuous running, or a week on the beach with no generators at night.
