HT is strictly on road tread, AT is on/off road more aggressive tread, and you'll always get less mileage the more aggressive the tread pattern no matter the brand. I assume you're talking the Firestone Transforce which is the commercial rated tire comparable to the Bridgestone Duravis, and also comes OEM on the GM HD's. My 2013 Silverado had the Firestone Transforce HT and from what I remember were still in great shape when I traded it on the GMC 2500 in 2015 @ 26K miles.

Which model Firestones? The OEM Firestone H/Ts that came on my Ram were the fastest wearing tires I've ever owned. The were shot at 27,000 miles. They might make some decent tires, but the H/Ts are not one of them.

I had a couple sets of Michelin’s on my 98 RAM make 120k, 100 with BFG’s. Those were when I was working commuting 100 miles a day.
Must have been commuting to Fantasy Island LOL. I bet you were getting getting 75mpg too?

Anyhow I picked up a set of the Duravis M700's with less than 2K miles which were takeoffs from an 18 Silverado for $100 each, free shipping, on fleabay. That's prorated pretty **** good from the $250 each new price LOL.

If I am understanding this 40k is GOOD mileage??? Last set of Michelins on my DRW made it to 40k and they gave me back $106 per tire pro rated. Personally would never be happy getting only 40k.

Interesting, I have the HT’s in the 18” on my Ram with 35,000 miles. Based on current wear, I can see getting another 20,000 on them. I’ve not heard good things on the AT’s however.

IMO, there isn't a LT 265-70-17 tire made that's worth anywhere near that much $. They are dime a dozen for about $100 a pop for takeoffs (if you are near a city) or under $200 for pretty much any other brnad/style unless you get into expensive mudders. Even Toyo ATs can be had for under $200 in load ranger 121.
Food for thought, maybe you can eat steak next week AND ave new tires!
