How tall is your truck and camper really?

I thought it would be fun to post a couple of comparison photos. No, my truck isn't lifted, but as you can see, it's really tall compared to the other trucks in the photos. No, I'm not saying taller is better.

Do you have similar pictures?

Ford F350 vs F450. I don't know what year the F350 is.

It's not just bridges and underpasses you have to worry about. I drove down a tree-lined street and cracked a vent cover due to low branches extending out into the road way. My setup is something under 13' (that's the the clearance measure I use). In actuality, I am close to 12.5' but like o give my self some fudge factor to allow for uneven or repaved roadway.

BTW: Watch the rail overpasses in downtown Spokane, I had to go around them.

Living on the west coast we don't seem to have too many low overpasses like that. Local to me is only one RR underpass that semi's can't go under. But other than that 13' 6'' is pretty safe around here. And most HWY overpasses are 14 or 15 something or even more.

I have a college buddy who De-roofed his fifth wheel back on the east coast when they were on a year long adventure.

I might have scrapped. I'm between 11'-4" and 11'-6" depending on whether the boat is hooked up or how much air I decided to put in the bags that trip.

I am right at 13'6". I have a low profile AC, but added vent covers which increased the height from 13' to 13'6".

Any structure under 11'6" and I am in trouble with my Northstar Laredo with AC mounted on a GMC 4 x 4. Renting inside storage with a big garage door is hard on my wallet. Considering a pop-up.

I think this thread demonstrates the huge difference in height of complete rigs even in hardsides.

Interesting that some hardside setups are within a foot of some popup setups. Obviously, the truck which includes bed and 4x4, etc is a significant factor but there is also ac or not, the basement or not, and cabover height in the sleeping area.

It would be interesting to map the overall height to mpg just for grins and giggles, but the aerodynamic profile is dramatically different for the variety of rigs.

112" TC height seems to be common between Eagle Cap, Host and Arctic Fox. How high your truck bed sits seems to be more of a differentiator for the TC's in which I have interest.

Dont know how tall my set up is but it's an over the bed rail design. On the pictures, just beside me you have an Eagle cap 1160 on a 2015 GMC 3500 drw 4x4.
