I got a new Generator

Sorry, it is not red or blue. It is a Champion 75531i, 3100 max watts, 2800 rated watts. Weighs about 85 pounds and is rated at 58db. I can pick it up and set it in the pickup by myself, it started the first pull, and it runs my AC unit.

In addition to a pair of 2000W Hondas or Yamahas, I considered the Yamaha 2400, but its ability to start the AC seems to be a gamble. $826 is more to my liking than $2200.

True statement. Sad, but true. Many wonderful Forest Service dry campgrounds that we no longer enjoy, because of all the generators.

Yes, Sadly the generator camper wannabe crowd have ruined most of the National Parks. Now days. They sound more like a truck stop.

That's funny. Maybe you should post a list of where you will be so we can all stay away from you.

I'll tell you where I'll be. On the Blue ridge Parkway, and there is NO such thing as a quiet generator in the silence of a BRP campground. If I can hear a lantern burning 100 yards away. I can sure hear your gen.

My understanding is that when you run 2 53db units, the total becomes 56db. I want to be able to run my AC, and they say it takes 2 2000w gens to do it.

I didn't buy from Amazon, but reviews on their site influenced my decision. Reviews on Amazon

Not sure where you shopped for Honda's, but they are closer to $1900 with the parallel cable.. still not $826, but cheaper than quoted.

Honda clone of the Champion 3100i $2299.00 with free shipping.

Your original post talked about a pair of EU2000's, not a 3000 Handi.

I would get a 2nd EU2000i. It's more power, easier to carry, and when you don't need A/C you only have to take 1.

Do it if you can get it for a cheap price. I grabbed one for 670 shipped, no tax or shipping to CA. Almost through it's break-in, running sweet so far.

The 3100 does look really nice and the weight is certainly doable. Price is good too.

I would be concerned about the small gas tank and run time with more than 1/4 load. And actual db under load. My 2k Honda is quiet until you put a good load on it then it makes my 3k Honda with the same load, sound super quiet.

The 3k Honda handi is the same way.

Thank you for posing with the generator! It helps a lot to get a perspective on the size of gen.

I have been shopping for a generator and have come across good reviews on the Champions. A champion 3100 sounds like the ticket if it will start and run the AC. I would love to have remote electric start... but am willing to give that up for a smaller lighter unit that I can pick up by myself. I was seriously considering the Yamaha 3000isb but like the price on the Champion much better and 88lbs is much more maneuverable than the 154lbs of the Yamaha!

Are there any other 75531i 3100-watt Inverter Generator owners that can expound its virtues and push me over the edge in purchasing one?

Where do you attach the hose on the lazy man's oil kit? The directions show it being attached to the frame on open frame units. Also assuming I get the 10 mm plug kit? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I like the price of the Champion unit. Only concern is, will it run a 15k AC unit?

Great looking gennie. The Champion is too well known and mass marketed to be considered a "clone".
FYI, I'll be up in the Smokies camping at Elkmont for about a week mid to late July, and I will be running my Champion. Thought I'd warn folks ahead of time, but come to think of it, most campers will be running their generators too.
