Not sure if it's intended for the US market now or not, but saw this on my way home from work (I work at the Chrysler Tech Center). The VW TDI powered AMAROK pickup truck complete with M-Plate. Not a good day for VW but here it is:

Maximum payload 2500lbs. That matches the 06 f250 ext sb 5.4. 4x4 in our lot.

Quit joking about the Amarok.

Yea not happy with that but most of it is from USA, better than the alternative. My old and new 98's are US made.

At least the 15's engines don't smell like "FISH" Burritos.

They're everywhere, they're everywhere!!!

I can comment with tongue in cheek since I owned a 81VW Diesel PU and drove 300K with my knees against the dash in it.

I am seeing more of them around in Australia. They are good Off Road, better than the Raptor, , but at the back of your mind is VW reliability

I have been following the amarok for close to 5 years already. It will be able to tow 7k for all the grocery getter commentators.

We have a grocery getter that can tow 7K, its called a GM Colorado/Canyon with a Duramax. A truck built by truck builders, not econobox builders. Buy AMERICAN!

And what is the payload, ha, 500 less than an Amarok. Another GM joke.

Colorado/Canyon DMax rated at 7,600 lbs. towing. A VW pickup truck now that is truly a joke.
