KZ Connect C231RBKSE Refrigerator Quit Working

Just a rant! We used our camper once, everything was fine, came home for a few days before the next trip and refrigerator isn’t working. Dealer can’t get It in till week of the 11th. We’re going this weekend and going to use coolers and outside fridge. Anyone else have this issue? Disappointing with something brand new but I understand things happen.

Ran into a similar problem days away from a big trip. Dealer said they couldn't get it for a week (regular route of the courier) but said we could get one if we picked it up ourselves. Wife took our truck and off she went. Dealer installed it that afternoon/evening and we took our trip. Our rig was only a few months old, thankfully covered under warranty but still nearly ruined our trip. Might see if the dealer could check with other regional shops and work something out.

We could only hope....

OK, I guess we have to get down to real basics. I am assuming it is an absorption RV fridge that runs on gas or 110V.

Have you tried this on 110V and gas? Regardless of the chosen power source, the fridge requires 12V to operate. On 110V the converter supplies the 12V when plugged in. No shore power, your batteries take over. (If they are switched on...)

Do your other 12V things work? The lights for example.

Is there an eyebrow panel at the top of the fridge? Do the lights function? Push poke the buttons, any change? Some have an "Auto" button. Set it there and the fridge will automatically determine if it is plugged in to shore power or if it has to default to propane.

Propane... Light the stove to make sure it is present. If it has a "Check" light, is it on? If so, shut the fridge off, wait a few seconds turn it back on.

Even more basic, lets not overlook anything obvious and simple.

Do you have a test meter and the knowledge to use it?
Open your fuse panel, see if one is marked Fridge and test the fuse. If not, test all fuses. Make sure they all have 12V going out.

Take the outside access panel off the fridge and check the fuse in the back. Usually one fuse, I have seen 2 in there. Easiest to just probe both ends of the fuse to make sure 12V is there.

Let us know on this and we can take it further until we figure it out.

Did that, nothing. Couldn’t find anything in troubleshooting that mentioned when everything looks normal. It mentioned all these codes, flashing lights, etc... nothing for if everything looks normal/correct

Battery is turned off
Light inside refrigerator is on
Stove lights
Refrigerator doesn’t come on with gas
It was on all night - 12 hours and didn’t come on

Everything looks like it should be working. The lights on the outside of the refrigerator appear correct. Green light is on, A and electric plug icon, temperature is set to 4, inside the refrigerator light is on. Just nothing. No sound like it’s running.

Can you elaborate on quit working?

What are the symptoms?
Is it not working on both gas and electric?
Is the check light on?
Do you have 12V to the unit?
Can you hear the burner try to light?

Most likely we can guide you through some simple checks and get it going for you, avoiding a trip to the dealer.

The more info you can provide, the better we can help.
I second Bob's post, it's probably something simple if you can just give us more details.
Is the gas turned on?
Does the stove light?
Is the battery disconnect switch in the "on" position?
Does the light inside the fridge come on?
How long did you wait after you turned it on to determine it's not working?

Lights on inside, lights are all working on the outside. But nothing, on Automatic with the Plugicon, nothing with the electric plug icon, nothing on gas. We plugged it I. B4 the camping trip, worked on the trip, came home, plugged camper into electric and about 4 days later went out and it wasn’t working.

NASA couldn’t build a 100% reliable space shuttle with a nearly unlimited budget. Dunno how anybody else can build 100% reliable anything with merely reasonable budgets. That’s why there are guarantees in the first place. Never heard of an RV fridge being killed with just one use, but you managed to prove it happens. Congratulations, sorry about your prize, but glad no blood was shed.

Your profile says "midwest." Are you close to northern Indiana? Take it to JC Refrigeration or National Refrigeration both in Shipshewana, Indiana. I know National does warranty work. They will fix it.
